William Turton Blog is on hiatus

Greetings, devoted readers of William Turton Blog,

When I started this project a couple of months ago, I expected it would be my journalistic focus for the foreseeable future. I was genuinely humbled by the support I received from friends and readers.

To my surprise, ProPublica reached out and offered me a job reporting on Elon Musk’s DOGE effort. The opportunity to work alongside ProPublica’s reporters was one I couldn’t pass up. Yesterday, along with my colleagues, I published my first story about a Treasury inspector general seeking information from the Internal Revenue Service regarding possible attempts by Trump or DOGE to obtain taxpayer data.

My employment at ProPublica is on a contract basis, and I’m not sure how long it will last. It’s possible I will return to William Turton Blog, but I’m uncertain. In the meantime, if you’d like to cancel your subscription or request a refund, feel free. Your support is deeply appreciated either way.
